Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Long-Term Care

Location: Victoria, BC

Pay: $34.25–$40.14 per hour

Position Overview

Canada West Health Solutions Inc. is currently recruiting Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for ongoing positions at a long-term care community in Victoria, BC.

We are looking for reliable, compassionate and experienced LPNs who are interested in consistent, regularly scheduled hours and are able to commit to an agreed ongoing schedule.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide safe, compassionate and resident-centred nursing care.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with LPN scope of practice and organizational policies.
- Complete resident assessments and monitor and report changes in resident condition.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Document resident care using PointClickCare (PCC) and other applicable systems.
- Participate in resident care planning and interdisciplinary care discussions.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians and members of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Provide direction and support to Health Care Assistants/Resident Care Aides as appropriate.
- Respond appropriately to changes in resident condition, incidents and clinical concerns.
- Follow infection prevention and control, medication-management, workplace-safety and resident-safety procedures.
- Maintain resident dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
- Perform other nursing duties within LPN scope of practice as required.

Qualifications
- Current BCCNM registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous long-term care,



complex care or seniors' care experience preferred.
- PointClickCare (PCC) experience preferred.
- Experience with medication administration, resident assessments, care planning and clinical documentation.
- Strong communication, organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
- Ability to provide appropriate direction and support to Health Care Assistants/Resident Care Aides.
- Reliable attendance and ability to commit to an agreed ongoing work schedule.

- Current TB test
- Immunization records
- Current BCCNM licence/registration

Schedule & Availability We are currently recruiting for day, evening and night coverage with ongoing, regularly scheduled shifts.

Applicants should indicate their preferred shifts and regular availability when applying.

Candidates selected for placement will be expected to commit reliably to an agreed ongoing schedule.

Location The position is located in Victoria, British Columbia.

Preference will be given to candidates who are local to the Victoria area or who can reliably commute to the work location.

Accommodation, relocation expenses, travel costs and mileage reimbursement are not provided.

Compensation

$34.25–$40.14 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
