Forward Education builds hands-on coding and AI literacy tools for K-12 classrooms. Our micro:bit-based kits and MicroChat AI platform are used in over 1,200 school districts and 30+ countries, reaching more than 50,000 teachers and a million students. We're a small, fast-moving team that ships physical products globally and uses AI tools in our day-to-day work as a matter of course.

The Role

We're hiring a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to own the full stack of how our products get made, moved, stocked, and delivered around the world. That means everything from managing overseas manufacturing and booking inbound container freight, through warehouse inventory and transfers, to getting orders out the door to schools, resellers, and distributors in dozens of countries.

This is an individual contributor role with a lot of scope. You won't be handed a playbook. You'll be expected to figure out what needs building, build it, and keep it running, using AI tools to move faster than a role like this traditionally would.

What you'll do

Sourcing and manufacturing

- Own relationships with our contract manufacturers in China and act as the bridge between them and our product and sales teams
- Source and qualify new suppliers for current and future product lines; run RFPs, compare quotes, and negotiate pricing and terms
- Forecast demand, plan production runs, and keep landed costs under control
- Ensure products meet regulatory and quality requirements (CE, FCC, UKCA, etc.) for each market we ship to

Freight and logistics

- Book and manage inbound ocean and air freight from Asia, including container consolidation, freight forwarder relationships, customs clearance, and duty management
- Manage international outbound shipping to reseller and distributor partners, including export documentation, HS classification, Incoterms, and carrier selection
- Coordinate warehouse-to-warehouse transfers between our Canadian, US, and international stocking locations to keep inventory positioned where demand is




- Handle DDP/DAP shipments, customs brokers, and country-specific import requirements as we open new markets

Inventory and warehousing

- Manage global inventory across our 3PL and distribution partners so direct customers and resellers get product on time
- Set up and scale warehousing and fulfillment in new international markets as we add reseller partners
- Work with finance on monthly inventory reconciliation, landed-cost tracking, and spend analysis

Systems and tooling

- Use AI tools to automate the repetitive parts of the job: supplier and forwarder comms, shipment tracking, data reconciliation, documentation, reporting
- Build and maintain the tracking, forecasting, and reporting systems that keep all of the above visible

What we're looking for

- 3+ years across purchasing, supply chain, and logistics, ideally at a hardware or consumer products company that ships internationally
- Direct experience sourcing and managing manufacturing partners in China
- Hands-on experience with inbound container freight, customs clearance, and international outbound shipping
- Comfortable with AI tools and actively looking for ways to apply them to your work
- Solid Excel/Sheets skills and experience with an ERP or inventory management system
- A self-starter who takes ownership, works independently, and doesn't wait to be told what to fix
- Clear, direct communicator who can manage suppliers, forwarders, and internal stakeholders across time zones
- Bonus: experience setting up 3PL partnerships or fulfillment in new countries, or working with education/reseller distribution channels

Pay: $80,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
