Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a full-time, permanent capacity at Kings Way Care Centre in Quispamsis, NB.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The LPN shall be committed to supporting implementation of the “Eden Alternative TM”

by surrendering institutional routines and creating a habitat for living based on Kings

Way Care Centre’s organizational vision, mission and values as well as the “Eden

Alternative TM”

.

Assist the Registered Nurse as directed in the oversight of resident care with the aim of alleviating the three plagues of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom based on Kings

Way Care Centre’s organizational vision, mission and values as well as the “Eden

Alternative TM”

Assist the Registered Nurse as directed in the oversight of staff.

The LPN shall be committed to creating a culture of safety for all.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Embraces the mission, vision, values and Eden Alternative philosophy of the organization.
- Ability to relate to the elderly,



and clients who are mentally and/or physically challenged/impaired.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and flexibility.
- Physically able to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to team lead under the supervision of an RN.
- Graduate of an approved LPN course
- Registered and in good standing with provincial licensing body
- Possesses initiative and good judgment
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, health care personnel and visitors
- Neat and clean in appearance
- Respects confidentiality and privacy
- Good previous work and attendance record
- Experience in geriatric nursing preferred
