About Nautix

Nautix is a specialized marine electrical company serving boat owners across Georgian Bay. We design and install lithium battery systems, Victron inverter/charger and solar setups, NMEA 2000 networks, and Garmin chartplotter and autopilot packages, all built to ABYC E-11 standards. Our clients are referral-driven and our work is high-end, clean, and done right the first time. We're growing, and we're looking for an apprentice who wants to learn the marine electrical trade properly.

The Role

You'll work side-by-side with the owner, a working marine electrical technician, on boats from day one. This is hands-on training: you'll start by helping on installs and learning our standards, and take on more responsibility as your skills grow. We pay well above the typical apprentice rate because we want to find the right person and keep them.

What You'll Do

- Help install and upgrade DC and AC systems, including lithium batteries, inverter/chargers, shore power, and charging systems
- Run, terminate, and label wire to ABYC standards (crimping, heat shrink, loom, cable routing)
- Help install and network marine electronics: chartplotters, sonar, autopilots, and NMEA 2000 backbones
- Assist with electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics using a multimeter and clamp meter
- Keep job sites and vessels clean, protected, and organized




- Take progress photos and notes so jobs are documented properly
- Travel between marinas and client boats around Georgian Bay

What We're Looking For
- A real interest in electrical work and boats, and a willingness to learn
- Good with your hands, detail-oriented, and proud of neat work
- Reliable, punctual, and valuable at communicating with the team and clients
- Comfortable working in tight spaces, bilges, engine rooms, and on docks in changing weather
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Electrical, trade school, or pre-apprenticeship experience is a plus but not required
- Boating experience is a plus

- $26 to $34 per hour, depending on experience

Please Note This is on-the-job training in marine electrical systems. It is not a registered 309A electrician apprenticeship.
