Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly and detail-oriented Meat Clerk to join our retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling and preparing meat products, ensuring they meet quality standards and food safety regulations. You’ll work closely with customers to provide excellent service, help with food preparation, and maintain a clean and organized meat department.

The ideal candidate is passionate about food, experienced in food handling or butchery, and eager to deliver a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

- Assist customers by answering questions about meat products and offering cooking or preparation tips.
- Cut, trim, and package various types of meat according to safety standards and store procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the meat department, including equipment and work surfaces.
- Ensure proper storage of meat products, rotating stock to prevent spoilage.
- Follow all food safety guidelines related to handling, storage, and packaging of meat products.




- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or damages.
- Help with labeling products accurately and ensuring pricing is correct at all times.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in the food industry, butchery, or food handling is preferred.
- Knowledge of meat cutting techniques and food safety regulations.
- Strong customer service skills with an approachable attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic kitchen experience or familiarity with food preparation practices is a plus.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and assist customers.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
