The Role

This co-op starts with foundational, high-value work that directly supports the Engineering department’s efficiency — building the digital backbone for our documentation history and helping shape process improvements the whole team will rely on. As you demonstrate capability, initiative, and eagerness to learn, your responsibilities will grow to include more technical design, testing, and process-improvement work.

What You’ll Do

Starting responsibilities:

- Digitize historical Drawing Change Request (DCR) and Non-Conformance (NC) packages, currently filed as hardcopies, into our digital system — this work gives a detailed, ground-level look at our processes that positions you to spot gaps and suggest real improvements
- Organize and clean up shared engineering drives, retiring outdated drawings and files
- Create, maintain, and update Quality System Work Instructions (QSWIs)
- Support review and rollout of engineering process improvements

As you grow:

- Contribute to testing and validation work, including product test data and technical reports




- Provide CAD and design support using Autodesk Inventor
- Support documentation processes including DCRs, Stage-Gate for New Product Development, and Product Improvements
- Take on increasingly complex design, testing, or process-improvement assignments as you build a track record

What We’re Looking For

- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering program (or closely related), having completed at least 50% of program requirements
- CAD proficiency required, including 3D modeling — we use Autodesk Inventor; experience with AutoCAD or a general working foundation in 3D CAD software is the minimum bar
- Solid organizational skills and genuine attention to detail
- Comfortable starting with foundational tasks, with a demonstrated eagerness to take on bigger challenges over the course of the term
- Reliable, proactive, and comfortable asking questions
- A genuine passion for continuous improvement is preferred
- A genuine interest in Quality Control is a plus — this position may support the QC function at times
