We're hiring Medical Laboratory Assistants to join the team at Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife.

Behind every diagnosis, treatment plan, and recovery story is a laboratory professional helping make it possible.

Each day, you'll collect blood and other specimens, perform ECGs, support point-of-care testing, prepare samples for analysis and transport, and help ensure healthcare providers have the information they need to care for patients. From newborns and children to Elders and families from communities across the Northwest Territories, your work directly contributes to timely diagnoses, treatment decisions, and better health outcomes. You'll become a trusted member of a collaborative healthcare team serving more than 45,000 residents across one of Canada's most unique healthcare systems.

This role offers far more than routine laboratory work. You'll develop a broad range of skills in specimen collection, patient interaction, quality assurance, laboratory operations, and point-of-care testing while working in a fast-paced referral hospital that processes more than 410,000 tests annually. What We Provide:

- Salary: $82,232 - $98,202
- Northern living allowance: $3,700
- Bilingual bonus *if applicable: $1,200

Qualifications





Completion of an Accreditation Canada-recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant Program at a minimum of a certificate level. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. CSMLS certification as a Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant throughout the term of employment is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Stanton Territorial Hospital (STH) in Yellowknife operates the NWT’s largest medical laboratory, supporting hospitals, health centres, public health and industry across the territory. The lab processes roughly 27,000 tests per month and maintains rigorous standards that clinicians and communities rely on. STH also houses the NWT’s only PHAC‑licensed Risk Group 2 and Risk Group 3 medical laboratory, offering a unique training environment where precision, safety, and public health intersect.
