Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and versatile Millwright to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem solving, fabrication, machinery installation, and working with a wide range of mechanical and industrial systems.

Because of the specialized nature of our equipment, the successful candidate must be comfortable working with both mechanical systems and high-temperature refractory materials, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on, mechanically inclined problem solver who takes pride in quality workmanship. You should be comfortable switching between welding and fabrication, mechanical installation, machinery moving, equipment troubleshooting, and specialized refractory work.

This is not a typical shop-only millwright position. Our work requires someone who is versatile, adaptable, and willing to get involved in every stage of a project, from fabrication and equipment assembly through installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong mechanical background but also possess practical welding, fabrication, and masonry/refractory skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform MIG welding and steel fabrication, including cutting, fitting, welding, grinding, and assembly.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, and equipment layouts.
- Assist with the rigging, moving, positioning, assembly, and installation of heavy equipment and machinery.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify equipment and related mechanical systems.
- Perform equipment alignments, mechanical adjustments, and installations.
- Complete preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot and assist with basic electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.




- Perform specialized masonry and refractory work, including installation and repair of refractory fire brick, refractory castable, and related high-temperature materials.
- Assist with demolition and removal of existing refractory materials when required.
- Form, mix, place, and finish refractory castable according to specifications.
- Work with cranes, hoists, forklifts, jacks, rigging equipment, and other machinery-moving equipment.
- Participate in equipment commissioning, startup, testing, and service calls.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair or replacement requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Travel to customer sites for installations, repairs, maintenance, and equipment upgrades.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all applicable workplace safety procedures and company standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Millwright certification or equivalent industrial mechanical experience.
- Robust MIG welding and steel fabrication skills.
- Experience with machinery installation, mechanical assembly, and equipment maintenance.
- Experience moving, positioning, and installing heavy industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and measurements.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication equipment.
- Physically capable of performing demanding industrial work, including lifting, climbing, kneeling, and working in confined or elevated areas.




- Willingness and ability to travel to customer locations as required.
- Demonstrate respect, compassion and integrity when communicating with clients and co-workers
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Strong English written and communication skills
- Capable of working both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
- Clean valid driver’s license with daily reliable mode of transportation to Uxbridge, Ontario.
- Willingness to travel domestically
- Ability to work flexible and extended hours
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities as needed.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

- Capable of lifting and/or moving heavy objects up to 75 lbs
- Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, squat, climb, crouch or crawl
- Work is performed in commercial/industrial setting which may include confined spaces
- Respirators, gloves, and fall protection may be required on specific sites, which is provided for the employee

Schedule

- Monday to Friday (occasional weekend)
- Day shift but can run into evenings

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
