Mind Builder | Middle School & High School Specialist

Little Minds Big Futures is growing, and we are looking for a passionate, reliable, and experienced Middle School & High School Specialist Mind Builder to join our team!

A Mind Builder is more than a tutor. Our educators help students build academic skills, confidence, independence, and a positive relationship with learning. We are looking for an educator who understands the unique needs of middle school and high school students and genuinely enjoys helping them become more confident and independent learners.

About the Role

As a Middle School & High School Specialist Mind Builder, you will work with students in approximately Grades 6–12, providing individualized academic support based on their learning needs, goals, strengths, and areas for growth.

Depending on your background and areas of expertise, you may support students with:

- Literacy, reading, and writing
- Mathematics
- Science
- French
- General academic support
- Study skills and test preparation
- Organization and time management
- Executive functioning and independent learning skills
- Homework and assignment support
- Building academic confidence and independence

You will:
- Provide engaging, individualized instruction based on each student's needs
- Support students academically while building confidence, independence, and a growth mindset
- Prepare and deliver age-appropriate learning activities and lessons
- Help students develop effective study, organization, and learning strategies
- Monitor student progress and communicate relevant observations
- Adapt instruction to different learning needs, abilities, and learning styles
- Encourage students to take ownership of their learning
- Create a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment




- Maintain professional communication with families and the Little Minds Big Futures team
- Follow Little Minds Big Futures' educational approach, expectations, and policies

What We Are Looking For We are looking for educators who are:
- Warm, patient, encouraging, and dependable
- Confident working with middle school and high school students
- Passionate about helping students learn, grow, and become more independent
- Strong in one or more academic subject areas
- Professional and reliable in communication
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Able to adapt instruction to different learning needs and abilities
- Experienced working directly with students
- Currently living in Canada
- French-speaking is considered an asset

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have

- At least 2 years of professional experience in education
- Experience working directly with middle school and/or high school students
- Strong knowledge of at least one academic subject taught at the middle school or high school level
- 2 professional references
- A transparent Police Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A genuine passion for education and supporting student learning
- Current residence in Winnipeg, Manitoba
- Access to Printer
- Access to car

Pay: $17.50-$30.00 per hour
