The Mixer Operator Jr is accountable for setting up, maintaining, and operating equipment. They ensure the equipment runs smoothly, operates at capacity without issues, and is appropriately maintained on schedule. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager. The duties and tasks of the Mixer Operator Jr dictate the safety and efficiency of everyone around them; they must remain focused and diligent in performing tasks correctly and with care.

Work Schedule

- This role will rotate between day and afternoon shifts. The company will be implementing the third shift soon, then this role will be rotating between day, afternoon and night every two weeks.

Main Job Tasks, & Duties

- Set up machines (calibration, mixing and delivering ingredients, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
- Ensure the recipe for the mix is followed accurately every time based on the SKU being run.
- Control and deliver mixer ingredients at the required rate to ensure consistency of the finished product.
- Monitor the mixing process to achieve accurate results.




- Ensure the quality of product(s) produced through mixer equipment.
- Participate in problem-solving and minor troubleshooting of equipment.
- Resolve issues that might occur during the shift.
- Keep records of product weighed and delivered.
- Maintain activity logs.
- Conduct prescribed preventative maintenance.
- Maintain the equipment so it operates safely.
- Report safety hazards within the work setting.
- Identify ways to reduce waste and improve efficiency
- Set up and operate mixing equipment efficiently and safely.
- Follow recipes accurately and monitor mixing processes for quality and consistency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues during shifts.
- Maintain records of production, conduct preventative maintenance, and ensure equipment safety.
- Report any safety hazards promptly.

Safety
- Follow a safety-first culture.
- Proper use of PPE.
- Ensure a clean and safe work area.

Education and Experience
- Proven experience as a Mixer Operator.
- Working knowledge of mixing equipment to properly mix ingredients.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree is an asset.

- Full grasp of production procedures.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear).
- Critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical stamina and strength – ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively.
