About Us:

We are a prominent, fast growing, and non-traditional private mortgage lender located in Downtown Vancouver. We intake funds from investors and then lend those funds out as mortgages secured against real property. Our business supports borrowers with custom real estate financing solutions and contributes to our investors’ financial success with a source of consistent and reliable income. Our current mortgage portfolio size is over $300 million, and we are experiencing very rapid growth.

You will be working alongside our skilled executive team that has over 75 years combined industry experience, with expertise in property development, public accounting, and mortgage financing. Your role will include overseeing the loan cycle from start to finish, working and liaising with potential and current borrowers, brokers, and lawyers while managing the course of the loan with various actions such as advances, renewals, payouts, and analysis on secured properties.

Responsibilities:

- Accurate processing of post-closing lending cycle transactions according to team function requirements.
- Effective document management and electronic file organization related to client files and databases.
- Ensuring correspondence to borrowers and business partners adheres to company policies.
- Implementing controls to safeguard the mortgage loan system's integrity and information accuracy.
- Managing client and customer relations, both internal and external, to facilitate information requests.
- Confirming appropriate due diligence has been completed on all documents.
- Verify data to ensure it meets with company guidelines.
- Communicate with borrowers regarding lapsed insurance, property tax arrears, and governmental tax filings.




- Review and action construction draw requests, considering loan-to-value and cost-to-complete considerations at each draw stage.
- Overseeing and managing the Mortgage Renewal submissions to Lending Committee.
- Make recommendations to the Manager concerning the effectiveness of existing policies and procedures.
- Assist with research and development for recommended changes to policy and procedures.
- Additional reporting and tasks as assigned by management.

Skills & Requirements:

- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must have a valid British Columbian Mortgage Broker Licence or be in the process of obtaining such licence.
- The ideal candidate will have 2+ years mortgage industry experience in the private lending space or 3 to 5-years mortgage industry experience in bank, credit union, ‘B’ lending industry, or have experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant in the areas real estate, corporate, and conveyancing.
- Excellent time management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to thrive in a constantly changing, high intensity environment with ability to focus and maintain composure.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
- Display pride in providing superb customer service and finding creative solutions to issues.
- Proven proficiency in MS Office (mainly MS Word and Excel).
- Knowledge of fraud risk in the mortgage industry and the ability to address concerns relating to suspected misrepresentation.
