Position Description

We are looking for an experienced Principal Network Security Engineer to support the operation, security, and evolution of critical network infrastructure.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing key network security technologies, including firewalls, web proxies, VPN gateways, and load balancers. You will also lead and contribute to network security projects focused on strengthening the security, availability, resilience, and performance of enterprise environments.

As a senior technical expert, you will collaborate closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other technology teams, as well as colleagues and partners across Canada and the United States.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Operate, administer, maintain, and support enterprise network security infrastructure.

Manage and troubleshoot firewalls, web proxies, VPN gateways, and load balancers.

Ensure the availability, stability, performance, and security of network environments.

Investigate and resolve complex network and security incidents.

Lead and deliver network security projects from design through implementation and production deployment.

Participate in the design and continuous improvement of network security architecture and controls.

Identify security risks and recommend appropriate technical solutions and improvements.

Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, infrastructure, architecture, and operations teams.

Participate in change management, maintenance, upgrades, and production deployments.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and network security standards.

Provide technical guidance and expertise on network security technologies and best practices.

Stay current with emerging network security technologies, threats, and industry practices.

Participate in an on-call support rotation to ensure continuity of critical services.

More than 10 years of experience in network engineering and network security, including operational support and delivery of complex technical projects.

Strong hands-on expertise with enterprise network and security infrastructure.

Extensive experience with firewalls,



VPN technologies, web proxies, and load-balancing solutions.

Solid troubleshooting skills for complex network and security issues.

Experience leading or delivering network security projects.

CCNP or CCIE certification, preferably Security or Enterprise.

Certification in one or more network security technologies such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point.

CISSP certification or another recognized equivalent cybersecurity certification.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical issues.

Availability to participate in an on-call rotation.

Bilingual proficiency in French and English.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Assets

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.

ITIL certification or another IT service management certification.

Experience supporting large-scale and complex enterprise environments.

Experience working with highly available and business-critical infrastructure.

Strong understanding of network security architecture, security controls, and industry best practices.

CGI provides a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The determination of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market,



experience, education, and professional licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are based on the specific circumstances of each case. a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position is $60,000–$100,000, this position is currently vacant.
