We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Labourers to join our team for the 2027 growing season to support the daily operations of our nursery. This role involves hands-on work in plant care, maintenance, and general nursery duties. The ideal candidate will have a passion for trees and horticulture, along with the ability to perform physical tasks in an outdoor environment.

This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in plant care, irrigation systems and mechanical equipment/tools while contributing to the growth of healthy trees/plants and landscapes.

Responsibilities

- Assist with planting, watering and maintaining a variety of nursery trees & plants using irrigation systems, hand tools, tractors and other mechanical equipment
- Perform heavy lifting of trees/plants, soil and equipment to support nursery operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the nursery grounds
- Support pruning, fertilizing and pest/pathogen control activities as needed
- Operate & maintain mechanical equipment related to irrigation and tree maintenance, planting, digging and shipping
- Monitor tree/plant health and report any issues or concerns to supervisor
- Assist with loading and unloading supplies, trees/plants and materials
- Maintenance and construction of building(s)
- Follow safety protocols during all farm and mechanical tasks

Qualifications





- Previous experience or knowledge in horticulture or gardening is preferred but not required
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and plant care techniques
- Mechanical knowledge or experience working with hand tools is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly (up to or more than 50 pounds)
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to planting and watering schedules
- Attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards plant health and safety standards
- Willingness to learn new skills related to nursery operations

Job Types: Full time, Seasonal for the 2027 Growing year

Contract length: 3-8 months

Pay: From $18.34 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 60.0 per week (6 days a week, typically starting at 7 am and finishing at 5:30 pm)
