Shipping is looking to explore and expand our business into the Oil and/or LNG Tanker marketplace. We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial broker to establish and develop this business alongside our existing team.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced tanker professional to build and lead the tanker brokerage desk within World Wide Shipping. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to develop their own book of business while benefiting from World Wide Shipping’s established reputation, relationships, infrastructure, and collaborative Vancouver-based team. You will be responsible for developing relationships with cargo interests, charterers, shipowners, operators, traders, and other industry participants, identifying commercial opportunities, negotiating fixtures, and growing a sustainable tanker brokerage business.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and manage a portfolio of tanker clients and business relationships.
- Identify and pursue new cargo and vessel opportunities throughout the North American and international tanker markets.
- Develop relationships with shipowners, operators, charterers, traders, terminals, and cargo interests.
- Market vessels and cargoes and actively participate in the fixing process.




- Negotiate freight rates, terms, and charter party conditions on behalf of clients.
- Monitor tanker positions, cargo requirements, market movements, freight levels, and vessel availability.
- Provide clients with timely and insightful market intelligence.
- Generate new business through existing relationships, industry contacts, networking, and targeted business development.
- Coordinate closely with World Wide Shipping’s operations and management team from fixture through completion.
- Maintain accurate records of fixtures, opportunities, contacts, and market information.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an established tanker professional with a strong commercial mindset and an existing network within the tanker industry. The ideal candidate will have:

- Proven experience in chartering or brokerage.
- An established network of owners, operators, charterers, traders, and/or cargo interests.
- Strong knowledge of tanker markets, vessel types, routes, and commercial practices.
- Demonstrated ability to originate business and develop long-term client relationships.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A high level of organization and attention to detail.
