Our Kelowna location is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to support our diverse operations. This full-time position, with a rotation of 4 days on, 4 days off. Hours will vary to support the operation.

The Operations Supervisor is a key member of the FBO and is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and profitable operations of the Shell Aerocentre in a professional customer service setting in alignment with company expectations, regulatory requirements and the Shell Airport Operations Manual (SAOM). Reporting to the FBO Manager, the Operations Supervisor is the direct supervisor for the shift worked.
Responsibilities:
The Operations Supervisor is expected to demonstrate effective and efficient leadership in the following areas:
Supervision
Assists the FBO Manager by providing direct supervision to Fuellers ensuring that company expectations of performance are clear, appropriate feedback is provided and that appropriate resources are available to do assigned work by:
- Clearly defining job responsibilities and expectations for the employees and providing coaching and feedback on the same
- Coordinating and/or delivering the training of new hires to ensure compliance with Shell training protocol and company expectations
- Planning, organizing, prioritizing and assigning work for the Fuellers
- Monitoring quality and quantity of employees work to acknowledge superior results and/or to correct any deficiencies
- Assisting the FBO Manager with any relevant information to successfully complete performance appraisals for Aerocentre employees
- Ensuring employees have appropriate tools, materials and equipment that are in good working order.
- Creating and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Supporting employees in conflict resolution
- Supporting employees in effective team interaction and personal growth.
- Working with the FBO Manager and Manager, HR on discipline issues.
- Participating in hiring decisions.
- Ensuring safe work practices, policies, procedures and regulations are clearly understood and followed including compliance with personal protective equipment requirements
Customer Relations Acting as a representative of EFC and of Shell Canada to ensure a high level of professional customer service to all client groups by:
- Leading by example in all customer service interactions and holding employees accountable for a high standard of customer service
- Being fully informed of all products and services available
- Being aware of major airline seasonal charter changes to ensure adequate resources are available
- Proactively identifying and addressing customer requirements
- Facilitating the resolution of special customer requirements
- Cultivating relationships with regular customers
- Ensuring follow up and resolution of any customer concerns
Ramp Management Provide oversight and instruction on ramp management by:
- Ensuring optimal positioning of incoming aircraft to allow for additional arrivals and departures.
- Maximizing the utilization of hangar space to maximize revenue.
- Arranging for snow removal as required
Fuel Truck Maintenance Ensuring optimal availability and safe operating condition of the fuel trucks by:
- Being familiar with the vehicle maintenance schedules
- Planning and scheduling required vehicle maintenance in a timely fashion that minimizes operational impact
- Giving immediate attention to any unexpected mechanical issues or operational concerns that arise to minimize unscheduled downtime. Assessing whether to conducting on site maintenance or to seek assistance from a third party
- Ensuring that daily inspections of trucks are being performed.
- Ensuring that the fuel trucks are presented in a clean and professional manner at all times
Quality Control Ensuring compliance with Shell SAOM by:
- Being familiar with all SAOM requirements
- Ensuring that all regular prescribed fuel and equipment checks are performed and documented
- Responsible to represent the company in a professional and knowledgeable manner in all third party audits of the Aerocentre
- Fully cooperating with the onsite auditors
Financial Management Practices good stewardship and seeks opportunities to maximize revenue by:
- Having a thorough understanding of the business
- Being able to make sound business decisions as they pertain to customers and operations
- Optimizing the resources of the Company and use effectively and efficiently.
- Proper schedule management that provides adequate staff coverage while limiting unnecessary overtime expense to the Company.
- Maintaining responsible financial stewardship when purchasing supplies on the Company’s behalf
- Ensuring all assets and equipment are being maintained and respected to limit unnecessary expenses

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE or SKILLS
- Grade 12 plus post secondary education in a related field
- Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with Internet
- Numerical and mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills
- Willing to be on call outside of normal shift
- Have or willing to obtain Ground Operating License (AVOP’s)
- Have or ability to obtain Red Pass
