This is an internal/external posting. First preference for this position will be given to Indigenous candidates.

Reporting to the System Coordinator of Alternative and Continuing Education, the Outside Looking In Dance Teacher will work collaboratively with Outside Looking In (https://www.olishow.com/dance) and Kettle and Stony Point First Nation to teach a dance (ATC1O, 2O, 30) program. The program will be offered to Kettle & Stony Point students in grade 8-12. The teacher will be able to use a curriculum that has been developed by Outside Looking In.

The program will take place at Hillside School at Kettle & Stony Point and will include:

- dance sessions that are led by Outside Looking In
- practices that are led by Kettle & Stony Point staff
- delivery and evaluation of modules of written activities that support the curriculum expectations

Qualifications/Experience

- Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification required;
- Knowledge of and experience teaching various arts disciplines that explore or reflect First Nations, Métis, and Inuit perspectives, culture, and traditions is preferred;
- Teaching qualifications or relevant experience in dance;
- Experience working with Indigenous students is an asset.

Position Effective Date & Length Dance sessions will take place Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for approximately five weeks from October to March.



Practices will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. during non-session weeks from October to May.

Rate of pay as per Adult Day School - $60.04/hour

110 paid hours
