Tamarack Community Pharmacy is a community pharmacy in southeast Edmonton. Many of our patients are more comfortable speaking Punjabi or Hindi, and we want every patient to feel understood and well cared for. We're looking for a reliable, friendly Pharmacy Assistant to join our small team. Both full-time and part-time positions are available.

Position Details

- Job type: Full-time or part-time, permanent
- Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week; part-time hours are flexible
- Pay: $15.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, including some evenings and weekends
- Store hours: Mon–Fri 9:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; Sat–Sun 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
- Start date: As soon as possible

What You'll Do

- Greet and serve patients at the counter and on the phone in English, Punjabi and Hindi
- Receive prescriptions and enter patient and insurance information accurately
- Help with counting, packaging and labelling under the pharmacist's supervision
- Process payments and third-party insurance claims, and fix simple rejections
- Receive and check orders, stock shelves, and help with inventory and expiry checks
- Help prepare blister packs and coordinate deliveries and pickups
- Keep the dispensary and front store clean and organized
- Protect patient privacy at all times

What You Need





- Fluency in Punjabi and Hindi (required – you'll use both every day with patients)
- Good spoken and written English
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Positive attention to detail and comfort with computers
- Availability for evenings and weekends

Nice to Have

- Experience working in a retail or community pharmacy (strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with pharmacy software (e.g., Kroll, PharmaClik, Healthwatch)
- Knowledge of Alberta Blue Cross and other third-party billing
- Pharmacy Assistant certificate
