Position Overview

PJP Exporting is looking for a reliable and experienced Contract Pickup & Delivery Driver to assist with our busy shipping season from now until the end of the year.

The successful candidate will work alongside a PJP team member and will primarily be responsible for driving, customer pickups and deliveries, loading and unloading shipments, and completing customer invoices accurately.

This is a flexible contract position, with schedules based on PJP’s pickup and delivery requirements. The position is well suited to someone who is dependable, comfortable driving commercially, works well with others, and provides skilled customer service.

Key Responsibilities

● Safely operate PJP vehicles to pick up and deliver barrels, boxes, furniture, and other customer shipments.

● Drive to customer locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding areas as required.

● Work alongside another PJP team member during pickups, deliveries, and loading/unloading.

● Assist with loading and unloading customer shipments safely.

● Handle barrels and other items that may be heavy or require physical effort.

● Verify customer and shipment information at the time of pickup.

● Prepare and write customer invoices accurately at the time of pickup or delivery.

● Collect and record required payment information when applicable.

● Ensure all invoices include the correct sender/receiver information, phone numbers, shipment details, and applicable charges.

● Communicate professionally with customers regarding pickup details, shipment information, and charges.

● Notify the PJP office of completed pickups, deliveries, and any issues encountered during the day.

● Perform basic vehicle checks before operating the vehicle and report any mechanical or safety concerns.

● Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and ensure shipments are handled with care.





● Follow PJP Exporting’s operating procedures and customer service standards.

● Assist with other reasonable shipping-related duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

● Valid Ontario driver’s licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated.

● Clean and responsible driving record.

● Previous commercial driving, delivery, moving, courier, or logistics experience is an asset.

● Comfortable driving larger vehicles such as cube vans.

● Able to safely lift, carry, load, and unload barrels, boxes, furniture, and other shipments.

● Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions.

● Strong attention to detail, particularly when completing invoices and recording customer information.

● Good communication and customer-service skills.

● Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while also working effectively with another team member.

● Basic ability to use a smartphone for communication and work-related information.

● Ability to follow instructions and PJP procedures accurately.

● Forklift experience is an asset but not required.

Position Details

Employment Type: Contract / Seasonal

Term: Immediately until December 31, 2026

Schedule: Flexible; based on pickup and delivery requirements

Hours: Variable depending on workload

Work Area: Greater Toronto Area and surrounding areas

Primary Duties: Driving, customer pickups/deliveries, loading/unloading, and invoice preparation

This position is an important part of PJP Exporting’s day-to-day operations during our busy season. The driver will be working with another team member, so teamwork, communication, and reliability are essential.

PJP Exporting has been serving the Grenadian community for over 40 years, providing shipping services from Canada to Grenada.

Pay: $120.00 per day
