About Musical Minds Academy

Musical Minds Academy is a growing private music school in Newton, Surrey, with 150+ students and a team of dedicated teachers. We specialize in structured, RCM-based instruction grounded in a neuroscience-informed teaching philosophy: we care about how students actually learn, not just what they play. Our students range from young beginners to advanced RCM candidates, and our families value quality, consistency, and real progress.

We're looking for a versatile teacher to join our team, primarily teaching piano, with the ability to also teach guitar, voice, or another instrument.

What You'll Do

You'll teach private lessons (30, 45, and 60 minutes) to students of various ages and levels, mostly beginner to intermediate. You'll follow our studio curriculum (Faber and RCM tracks), prepare students for RCM exams where applicable, track progress, and communicate with parents about goals and practice. You'll also have the opportunity to build a second-instrument studio as demand grows.

What We're Looking For

- Strong piano skills, ideally RCM Grade 8 or higher (or equivalent training)
- Ability to teach at least one additional instrument: guitar, voice, violin, flute,



ukulele, or similar
- Teaching experience with children, including young beginners
- Familiarity with the RCM curriculum and exam process
- Reliable, punctual, and professional with families
- Consistent availability on weekends and maybe weekday afternoons.

Nice to Have

- RCM Teacher Certification, ARCT, or a music degree
- Experience preparing students for RCM theory or practical exams
- Experience teaching group classes or camps
- Fluency in a second language (Punjabi, Hindi, Mandarin, or other languages common in our community)
