General Information

We're recruiting for a Pig Stockperson for an outdoor breeding unit in North Norfolk.

You will play an important role in maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and herd health for a nationally leading pig business.

Working as part of an experienced team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care of breeding pigs and piglets. You will receive full support from your manager and have access to up-to-date, well-maintained equipment and tractors.

About The Business This is a family-run business operating a number of breeding and finishing units across Norfolk, Suffolk and Lincolnshire.

Your Responsibilities

- Maintain high standards of animal welfare at all times
- Provide excellent day-to-day care for the pigs
- Feed livestock using a trailed feeder, tote bin and scoop
- Carry out daily health checks and provide treatment when required
- Maintain electric fencing to ensure the safety of both livestock and the public
- Strim around electric fencing to prevent unwanted earthing
- Support with the wider maintenance of the farm to ensure excellent presentation standards and a safe working environment
- Wash and clean tents and huts between batches to maintain high standards of biosecurity
- Carry out artificial insemination of breeding stock
- Escort gilts and sows to the service hub
- Assist with the culling and preparation of sows, boars, weaners and piglets for transport when required
- Follow all company procedures and Health & Safety requirements
- Attend mandatory training sessions
- Carry out other duties as required, according to your skills and capabilities

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
