PSL Patrick Sprack Limited was formed in 2006 as a Preventative Maintenance Oriented HVAC company. Since this time, we have become a reputable and leading Northern Ontario HVAC-R contractor to the mines, industrial sites as well as commercial properties.

PSL Patrick Sprack Limited provides a variety of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, petroleum, propane, and refrigeration services ranging from planned maintenance (both preventative and full coverage), inspections and diagnostic services as well as repairs, retrofits and new installations for commercial and industrial mechanical systems.

Position Summary The Pipefitter is responsible for installing, assembling, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing piping systems that convey liquids, gases, steam, and other materials. This role works with industrial and mechanical piping systems in accordance with drawings, specifications, codes, and safety regulations. The Pipefitter supports safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant, facility, or project systems.

Key Responsibilities

Piping Installation & Fabrication

- Install, assemble, and align piping systems including carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialty piping
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, spool drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Measure, cut, thread, bevel, and fit pipe using appropriate tools and equipment
- Install valves, fittings, flanges, gaskets, supports, and expansion joints

Maintenance & Repairs





- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on piping systems
- Identify leaks, corrosion, vibration, or system failures
- Repair or replace damaged or worn piping components
- Support system shutdowns, tie‑ins, and turnarounds

Welding & Assembly Support

- Fit pipe for welding, bolting, or mechanical joining
- Work in coordination with welders to ensure proper fit‑up and alignment
- Perform bolting and flange assembly using proper torque procedures

Safety & Compliance

- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements
- Ensure work complies with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, CSA, site standards)
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or defective materials

Testing & Commissioning

- Assist with pressure testing, leak testing, and flushing of piping systems
- Verify system integrity prior to commissioning or start‑up
- Support documentation and sign‑off activities related to completed work

Documentation & Reporting

- Complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation
- Record materials used, repairs completed, and system conditions
- Communicate progress, issues, and recommendations to supervisors

Tools, Equipment & Work Area

- Safely use hand tools, power tools, pipe‑cutting equipment, and lifting devices




- Maintain tools and equipment in serviceable condition
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards

Teamwork & Collaboration

- Work closely with welders, millwrights, electricians, and operations staff
- Support apprentices and helpers as required
- Coordinate work activities with supervisors and other trades

Qualifications & Experience

- Journeyperson Pipefitter certification or completion of a recognized apprenticeship preferred
- 3–7+ years of pipefitting experience (experience level dependent on role)
- Experience in industrial, mining, construction, or plant environments an asset
- Strong ability to read and interpret piping drawings and specifications

- Industrial plants, construction sites, facilities, or field environments
- Exposure to noise, heights, hot work, confined spaces, and weather conditions
- May require shift work, overtime, travel, or shutdown participation
