About the Role

ZANN Dental Laboratory is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and hardworking Plaster Department Assistant to join our laboratory team.

We are open to candidates seeking part-time or full-time hours, with scheduling flexibility based on the needs of the laboratory and the candidate’s availability.

This is a hands-on laboratory position focused on the preparation, pouring, trimming, organizing, and processing of dental models and impressions.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, works carefully and efficiently, and understands the importance of accuracy in a dental laboratory environment.

Previous dental laboratory experience is an asset, but training can be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

- Pour dental impressions using dental stone and other laboratory materials
- Prepare and accurately trim dental models
- Separate and organize models and impressions according to case requirements
- Prepare models for the next stage of laboratory production
- Read and follow case instructions and laboratory prescriptions
- Check models and impressions for visible issues or inconsistencies
- Ensure cases are properly identified and organized
- Maintain an organized workflow within the plaster department
- Clean and maintain workstations, tools, and equipment
- Monitor plaster, stone, trays, and other department supplies
- Follow laboratory procedures and quality standards
- Assist with moving cases between departments when required
- Meet daily production and turnaround requirements
- Communicate case or material issues to the appropriate team member
- Assist with general department organization and laboratory tasks as needed

- Comfortable standing and working with laboratory materials for extended periods
- Previous dental laboratory, plaster, model, or dental assisting experience is an asset

Training & Growth

You will receive training on ZANN Dental Laboratory’s procedures, materials, equipment, and workflow.

This position provides an opportunity to learn more about the dental laboratory process and develop hands-on experience within a professional laboratory environment.

Candidates who demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn may have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities over time.

Schedule

Monday–Friday

We are considering candidates interested in either part time or full-time hours.

Start time is approximately 8:00 AM.

Specific hours can be discussed during the interview based on laboratory needs and the candidate’s availability.

Compensation

Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications.
