Rocket Financial is growing its product team, and we're hiring a Product Owner to own execution across our regulated fintech products. This is an early hire on the team with real ownership over how product gets delivered.

POSITION SUMMARY

Rocket Financial is expanding into new product areas, new jurisdictions, and recent integrations. As we grow, we are building a dedicated product function, and the Product Owner is a key hire on that team.

This role owns the execution layer of Rocket Financial's product portfolio. Working alongside the Product Manager, the Product Owner translates product direction into detailed specifications, runs the backlog, coordinates delivery across engineering teams, and ensures what ships matches what was intended.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role on a fast-moving team building regulated financial products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Specification and Discovery

- Translate product direction into detailed functional specifications, user flows, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
- Surface edge cases, compliance considerations, and dependency risks before tickets move into sprint.




- Establish a spec-review discipline that keeps specifications aligned with product intent before implementation.

Backlog and Sprint Execution
- Own the backlog in JIRA: epics, user stories, grooming, and in-sprint prioritization across multiple product workstreams. -
- Participate in sprint planning, standups, and other Agile ceremonies led by the Scrum Master.
- Make execution decisions independently within a sprint, and escalate anything that affects other workstreams, clients, or product strategy.
- Coordinate cross-functional engineering efforts for multi-workstream features.

Quality and Release
- Test tickets, raise bugs, verify fixes, and run user acceptance testing.
- Ensure specifications are complete before sprint start and features meet requirements before release.
- Coordinate releases with support, sales, and customer success.

Roadmap and Delivery Visibility
- Maintain the execution roadmap, including feature phases, ship dates, and cross-workstream dependencies.
- Provide regular delivery updates to product, engineering, and go-to-market stakeholders, detailing what has shipped, what is on track, and any potential delivery risks with recommended trade-offs.

Demos and Enablement
- Run internal demos of shipped features to product and internal stakeholders.
- Own the demo environment across supported jurisdictions, including configuration, data, and scripts.




- Produce sales-enablement collateral and feature documentation to equip commercial and customer success teams.

Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with product leadership on feature conceptualization, roadmap prioritization, and trade-off decisions.
- Partner with engineering leads on delivery cadence and process improvements as the team scales.
- Work closely with support, sales, and customer success to close the loop between what ships and what customers experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Associate Product Manager, or in a similar execution-focused product role.
- Experience in fintech, regtech, risk management, payments, or customer onboarding (KYC/KYB, AML).
- Strong hands-on experience with JIRA (or equivalent), user story writing, and backlog management in an Agile environment.
- Proven ability to run UAT, coordinate releases, and work closely with engineering across parallel workstreams.
- Excellent written communication, especially in writing specifications engineering and design can work from.
- Highly self-directed and resourceful, with strong prioritization across multiple concurrent product areas.
- Thrives in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities evolve quickly, and ownership is expected.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with multi-jurisdiction compliance, product localization, or international products.
- Familiarity with Canadian, U.S., or EU regulatory context.
- Experience shipping products in risk management, fintech, or fraud and compliance domains. - Experience in a startup or growth-stage SaaS company.
- CSPO or equivalent product certification.
- Exposure to customer onboarding, identity verification, or risk platforms.
