Production Engineer

We are presently seeking a Production Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical execution of water and wastewater treatment projects from fabrication through installation.

The Production

Engineer will demonstrate technical expertise in piping systems, equipment design, quality assurance, production planning, and process optimization to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering standards. The ideal candidate enjoys working as a team player in a flexible work environment and seeing their work to completion from conception through fabrication.

Engineer will report to the Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the mechanical aspects of water and wastewater treatment projects during the production and installation phase of the project
- Review, interpret, and validate Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;) and General Arrangement drawings to ensure accurate implementation in the field.
- Collaborate with design engineers to develop piping layouts, equipment specifications,



and mechanical system designs.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers, Project Managers and fabrication teams to ensure materials meet project specifications and timelines.
- Analyze existing workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve production efficiency.
- Create, balance, and maintain detailed production schedules to align manufacturing output with demand forecasts and shipping deadlines.
- Tracks daily production progress against targets, quickly adjusting schedules to account for material shortages, equipment downtime, or urgent order changes.
- Provide technical support and training to production teams
- Conduct inspections and quality checks during fabrication and installation to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Investigate manufacturing defects, conduct root-cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and piping issues during production and commissioning phases.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency, safety, and maintainability.

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Proficiency in CAD software – AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.




- 3+ years of experience in water and/or wastewater projects or similar engineered systems.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and fabrication methods.
- Proven ability to read, interpret, and apply P&IDs; in a production or construction environment.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, Canadian/Ontario Building Code).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
