Production Manager

Satellite Building Systems (An AEP Company), provides qualified design services, supplies engineered wood products, and manufactures roof and floor trusses for contractors, builders, and homeowners. We are currently seeking a full-time Production Manager to support our growing operation in Almonte, ON.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for supervising Production Workers, Production Leads, and Production Supervisors (where applicable) while ensuring the timely manufacturing of product within the plant. Broadly speaking this role is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective product completion, people management and quality control across all areas of the manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities . Provide leadership and direction to Production Leads and Production Supervisors in order to complete work orders;

. Act as the liaise between the Production team and Operations Manager;

. Provide leadership and direction in the event of ambiguous, erroneous, or incomplete work orders;

. Determine the priority and process needed to complete work orders on time;

. In collaboration, manage the production flow to allow for smooth transitions between jobs, and teams, to meet shipping requirements;

. Operate a forklift, as required, in a smooth, safe and controlled manner (suitable for the weather conditions at hand) with consideration given to other employees, company product,



and company equipment;

. Evaluate team effectiveness and make changes to the Production Teams, based on operational requirements, in the event of employee illness, injury, or changes to team cohesion;

. Assist with the monthly inventory count, and valuation of products, as well as alert the Operations Manager of any inventory level requirements.

Qualifications

. 5+ years of experience in all facets of wood product manufacturing (such as trusses, floors, walls, Engineered Wood Products etc);

. 3-5 years of direct supervisory experience in wood product manufacturing;

. Physical and manual dexterity to complete all assigned tasks;

. Ability to safely lift weight of up to 50 lbs to waist height;

. Ability to read construction layouts and engineered drawings accurately

. Ensure all product built meets the AEP standards of quality and follows the design specifications provided;

. Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel;

. Strong problem-solving skills to resolve errors or omissions within task assignments;

. Strong desire to adhere to all health and safety programs in accordance with provincial regulations;

. Ability to prioritize competing tasks;

. Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines;

. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;

- Consistently demonstrates ethical practice and integrity in their work;
- Experience with growing companies supporting builders, construction, or multi-site manufacturing organizations;
- Demonstrates a willingness to understand and align all efforts to the goals and objectives of the AEP Group;
- Fluency in English in written, reading, and oral communication (speed, accuracy, and proper expression) to work effectively with other staff.
