Position Summary

We are seeking an energetic, visionary, and organized ELCC Program Manager to lead our Early Learning and Child Care department. Reporting to the Director of Academic Operations, the Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day academic delivery, curriculum currency, faculty supervision, and student success within the ELCC diploma and certificate programs.

The ideal candidate blends strong leadership experience in early childhood education with a passion for adult education and vocational training. You will ensure compliance with provincial regulations (including Alberta Early Learning and Child Care certification standards) and maintain high standards of instructional excellence.

Key Responsibilities

· Academic Leadership & Curriculum Management: Oversee the delivery of the ELCC curriculum, ensuring alignment with current provincial frameworks, adult learning principles, and labor market trends.

· Faculty & Staff Supervision: Recruit, onboard, mentor, and evaluate ELCC instructors and practicum supervisors. Foster a collaborative, high-performing teaching culture.

· Student Support & Success: Monitor student academic progress, retention, and graduation rates. Provide guidance, intervention, and support alongside student services to ensure student success.

· Practicum & Field Placement Coordination: Build and maintain robust relationships with local child care operators, preschools, and community partners to secure high-quality practicum placements for students.





· Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Ensure the program consistently meets all standards required by Private Career Colleges regulations and Alberta Children's Services/Child Care licensing and certification guidelines.

· Continuous Improvement: Participate in curriculum review committees, program advisory meetings, and institutional quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

· Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s degree is an asset). Equivalent combinations of extensive leadership experience and education will be considered.

· Certification: Must hold or be eligible for an Alberta Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 3 Certification.

Experience:

· Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience in early learning environments, child care administration, or post-secondary/adult education.

· Demonstrated experience managing staff, leading curriculum delivery, or coordinating student practicums.

Knowledge & Skills:

· In-depth knowledge of Alberta’s ELCC sector, child development theories, and play-based learning frameworks (e.g. Alberta's Early Learning and Child Care Framework).

· Strong understanding of private career college operations or post-secondary regulatory environments.

· Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

· Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and valid Child Intervention Record Check (required upon hire).
