Reporting to the Supervisor of Data & Applications, the Programmer Analyst 1 contributes to the development, implementation, maintenance, and support of software systems that deliver reliable, high-quality solutions to meet the needs of customers, business partners, and the organization.

As an entry-level position, the Programmer Analyst 1 works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain software applications, implement new solutions, troubleshoot and resolve application issues, and provide ongoing technical support.

The position provides an opportunity to build practical experience across a range of technologies, including databases. C#/.NET, Entity Framework, APIs, Angular, SharePoint, SQL Server, and Oracle Experience. Exposure to Android, iOS, and Capacitor application development is considered an asset.

Exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, tools, or concepts is considered an asset. An interest in exploring and applying AI to software development and municipal service delivery will be viewed positively.

As the Programmer/Analyst I, you will:

- Provide software / application support through code development maintenance, enhancement and optimization.
- Assist in the implementation and support of commercial and custom applications.
- Collaborate and communicate with team members, cross-functional team, and stakeholders.
- Participate in gathering and maintaining software requirements, and defining specifications.
- Maintain robust cybersecurity measures, safeguarding software applications and systems against potential threats and vulnerabilities.

Your education and qualifications include:

- A university degree or diploma in a technology focused discipline or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Six months' experience in an IT customer service-related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of a relevant application development and/or maintenance environment, and basic understanding of SQL server and Oracle databases.
- Ability to develop software for multiple platforms and technologies. , including .NET/C#, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, Angular and TypeScript etc.
- Knowledge of software testing and quality assurance, including manual and automated testing techniques.
- Knowledge of software development tools and technologies,



such as version control systems, integrated development environments (IDEs), Artificial Intelligence (AI), generative AI, machine learning, AI-assisted software development, AI-enable application features, automation, and collaboration tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to software quality and reliability, and ability to produce high-quality, error-free code.
