Job Summary The Team The GeoBC Atlas Team provides essential base mapping data for government, industry, academia, and the public. Our work includes geographic information such as imagery, elevation, roads, bodies of water, cadastral and administrative boundaries - data that forms the geographic foundation for many government applications, reports, and maps.

Our data supports spatial analysis and decision-making across British Columbia. We are an established team of 20 geospatial specialists with diverse skills, backgrounds, and interests who collaborate on a variety of spatial data projects.

The Role As a Public Service Intern, Engagement Coordinator, you will play an important role in building and strengthening relationships between GeoBC, First Nations, local governments,



and other community partners. A key responsibility will be to liaise with First Nations and local government agencies to support Data Sharing and Licensing Agreements.

You will help coordinate relationships through in-person and virtual meetings, follow-up activities, relationship management, and clear documentation of discussions and outcomes. You will also support the organization and management of important agreements and legal records.

Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements

2-year diploma, undergraduate or graduate degree in communications, business, geography, or a related field, received within the last 12-months from a recognized, Canadian post-secondary institution.

Preference may be given to applicants with experience in one of more of the following:

Experience coordinating engagement processes and managing communications records.

Emergency services work, including volunteer or paid work as a First Responder or in another emergency response field (e.g. police, ambulance, fire, emergency dispatch, etc.).

Experience working in and around Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and ArcGIS.

Experience working directly with or for First Nations on collaborative projects involving a communication component.
