- The expected base salary range for this position is $70/Hr - $75/Hr, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.

Position Overview:

- We are seeking an experienced Python/Spark Developer with strong expertise in building enterprise-grade backend applications and large-scale data processing solutions within the financial services industry.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing scalable data pipelines, optimizing distributed computing environments, and supporting credit risk analytics and regulatory reporting initiatives.
- This role requires a strong software engineering mindset with deep knowledge of Python development, Apache Spark, distributed computing frameworks, and financial risk management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, optimize,



and maintain scalable data pipelines for processing and analyzing large volumes of financial data.
- Build and enhance batch processing frameworks supporting credit risk analytics, stress testing, and regulatory reporting initiatives.
- Develop backend applications and services using Python following software engineering best practices.
- Lead the design and implementation of solutions supporting:
- Stress Loss Analytics (GSST, CCAR)
- Expected Credit Loss (CECL)
- IFRS9
- ICAAP
- Ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and processing of risk data across big data platforms including Hadoop, Hive, Impala, and Spark.
- Implement Spark performance optimization techniques including partitioning, caching, memory management, and query tuning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver scalable enterprise solutions.
- Maintain high code quality through automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and version control best practices.
- Lead software development projects and mentor team members throughout the development lifecycle.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Devin, or similar technologies to improve engineering productivity and software quality.

Required Qualifications:





- 7+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Python and Apache Spark.
- Strong backend application and service development experience using Python.

Expertise in:

- Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
- Exception Handling
- Concurrency & Multithreading
- Functional Programming Concepts

Strong experience working with distributed computing and big data technologies including:

- Apache Spark
- Hadoop
- Hive
- Impala

Strong SQL development experience with enterprise databases such as:

- Oracle
- PostgreSQL
- SQL Server
- MySQL
- Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience leading and owning software development projects from inception through deployment.
- Experience working within financial markets, credit risk, regulatory reporting, scenario analysis, or stress testing environments.

Hands-on experience with:

- GitHub
- Tekton
- Harness
- CI/CD Pipelines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced TechFin workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience supporting enterprise credit risk platforms and regulatory reporting systems.
- Knowledge of financial risk frameworks including CCAR, CECL, IFRS9, GSST, and ICAAP.
- Exposure to cloud-native architectures and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience leveraging AI-powered developer productivity tools in day-to-day software development activities.
