Job Overview LA Metal Stamping Co. is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong quality inspection experience, a solid mechanical aptitude, and hands-on expertise in CMM programming. This role is critical to ensuring that products meet customer specifications and the highest quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate inspection requirements with Quality, Advanced Quality, and Production teams to meet plant and customer expectations.
- Develop and maintain CMM programs to perform full dimensional layouts and generate reports for PPAP submissions and customer requirements.
- Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), with experience in PolyWorks preferred.
- Analyze CMM data and provide statistical information to support investigations and corrective actions.
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections on stamped components.
- Conduct inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T; requirements, and product specifications to verify conformance.
- Create, maintain, and organize inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.
- Perform routine validation checks and ensure CMM equipment remains in proper working condition.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.




- Assist with customer and internal quality requirements as assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Maintain a protected, clean, and organized work environment.

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Quality Inspector and/or CMM Programmer in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience programming and operating CMM equipment.
- Experience with PolyWorks software is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and precision measurement techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and part specifications.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Experience with PPAP documentation and dimensional reporting.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
