JOB SUMMARY:

Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, works in a team based environment and is responsible for coordinating training activities for radiological technology students/staff within a designated modality within Medical Imaging. Duties include instructing students/staff in technical and diagnostic procedures, implementing an evaluation system to evaluate student/staff progress during clinical training, acting as a liaison between academic institutions and departmental personnel, maintaining various training records and manuals and performing technical functions when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education &

Experience

Certification with the CAMRT. A minimum of five (5) years’ recent, related clinical experience in the designated medical imaging modality, including one (1) year experience in a supervisory or teaching capacity, supplemented by successful completion of recognized clinical instruction courses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice for the designated medical imaging modality including applicable procedures and processes.

Demonstrated knowledge and practice of protected work procedures with medical imaging equipment.





Demonstrated knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS), i.e. digital imaging, image archiving and retrieval.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with co-workers, medical personnel, other health care staff and students, both one-to-one and in-groups.

Demonstrated ability to develop training manuals, instructional material, examinations and assignments.

Demonstrated ability to teach and train staff and students.

Demonstrated ability to organize and to establish workload prioritizes in collaboration with others.

Demonstrated ability to problem solve.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement training plans.

Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques.

Demonstrated continuous education pathway.

Skill in the use of equipment, and in techniques appropriate to area of speciality.

Ability to operate related equipment including software applications.

General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.

Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.





Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.

Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
