That's why we're looking for a Recovery Motivator to join our team in Croydon. If you have personal experience of recovery from drug or alcohol use, or you've supported someone close to you through their journey, your experiences could help someone else believe that positive change is possible. This role gives you the prospect to use what you've learned, support others in your community and continue growing yourself.

Hours: Part Time - 15 hours*

Contract Type: Permanent

Additional Outer London Weighting paid pro rata.

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and any associated payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Part Of

You'll be one of the friendly faces people meet when they first access support.

You'll spend time talking to people, listening to their stories, helping them understand what's available and encouraging them to take the next step, whatever that looks like for them.

Some days you might be welcoming people into the service. Other days you could be out in the community building relationships, helping people connect with local support, or working alongside local groups and partner organisations.

You'll help people recognise their strengths, build confidence and feel less alone.

And throughout it all, you'll be supported by a team that believes in the value of lived experience and the difference it can make.

A Typical Day Might Include

- Welcoming people into the service and helping them feel comfortable and supported.
- Building relationships with individuals, families and local communities.




- Sharing information about support available across Croydon and helping people access the right services.
- Encouraging people to explore their goals and think about what positive change means for them.
- Supporting community activities, peer support and mutual aid opportunities.
- Working alongside colleagues and partner organisations to strengthen support networks.
- Developing your own skills through training, supervision and learning opportunities.

You'll also have personal experience of recovery from drug and/or alcohol use, or experience of supporting a family member or loved one affected by substance use.
