Join us in building a world of possibility! Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is Canada's largest pediatric rehabilitation hospital. We are a top 40 Canadian research hospital that is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, and we serve over 8,500 families annually.

We are seeking four Research Assistants to join the PRIME-C research team at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. The PRIME-C research team focuses on advancing meaningful engagement of children and youth in pediatric rehabilitation by developing a child-centred measure of engagement in rehabilitation. The project aims to better understand how children and youth experience and engage in rehabilitation, ensuring that their perspectives and voices are meaningfully incorporated into the development and evaluation of rehabilitation services.

The work draws on mixed methods, co-design, cognitive interviewing, and psychometric methods, with youth actively involved in shaping the research process and outcomes.

Description The Research Assistants will report to Dr. Monika Novak Pavlic and Dr. Gillian King and will contribute to recruitment, data collection and data management. The Research Assistants will be based across four participating sites in Ontario: Toronto, London, Ajax, and the Kitchener-Waterloo region. The successful candidates will support research activities at their respective site and collaborate with the broader PRIME-C research team.





Key Responsibilities

- Support recruitment and enrollment of children and youth participating in the PRIME-C study
- Coordinate and conduct on-site research visits and data collection
- Engage children and youth in research activities in a welcoming, age-appropriate, and inclusive manner
- Maintain accurate and organized research records and participant documentation
- Communicate regularly with the PRIME-C research team and participate in multi-site team meetings
- Coordinate and support qualitative and quantitative data collection
- Contribute to ongoing refinement of the PRIME-C by sharing observations and feedback related to children's and youths' experiences of the research process
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a health-related field. Preference given to those who have completed a Master's degree.
- At least 2 years of clinical experience in pediatric rehabilitation or research experience in a similar role
- Experience engaging with youth, families/caregivers, healthcare providers, researchers, and/or health-system partners
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and management
- Experience and knowledge of MS Office products and virtual meeting tools (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Zoom)
- Solid written and oral communication, organization, time management, and project coordination skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, while also collaborating effectively as a member of multidisciplinary and multi-knowledge user teams
- Experience with REDCap is an asset
