Research Analyst, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR)

Location: Vancouver, BC

Position: Permanent, Full-Time

About Broadstreet HEOR:

We are an independent consultancy in Vancouver, British Columbia, specializing in patient-centered research, epidemiology, evidence synthesis, and health economics. Our team comprises qualitative researchers, epidemiologists, health economists, statisticians, and IT specialists. Our projects are led by senior team members with extensive experience across a wide range of HEOR studies.

We have an extensive network of external academic and clinical experts who collaborate on studies that lie within their core areas of expertise.

Role Overview:

We are looking to hire an experienced research analyst to support a variety of study types including systematic reviews, observational studies, and a wide variety of other Health Economic and Epidemiologic research projects.

Role responsibilities include:

- Contributing to the design, protocol development, and implementation of systematic literature reviews (SLR)
- Strong skills in developing literature searches in Medline, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases will be considered an asset
- Take responsibility for various SLR-related tasks (abstract review, data extraction)
- Contributing to the conduct of meta-analyses and network meta-analyses (NMA)
- Communicating the results through slide deck development, report writing, and contributing to scientific publications.
- Support site management and communication:

o Support day-to-day communication and coordination with participating research sites/vendors for chart review and patient interview studies.

o Assist with site onboarding and training, communicate study materials and procedural information,



and respond to routine site questions with guidance from senior project staff.

o Track site activities, including study start-up, patient identification and recruitment, chart abstraction, interview scheduling, and completion of study documentation.

o Follow up with sites at a pre-defined cadence regarding outstanding activities and timelines, maintain accurate records of site communications and study status, and flag recruitment, data-collection, or operational issues to the project team for resolution.

- Potentially (based on skillset and interests), also contributing to:

o Epidemiologic study design and models o Economic models o Statistical analysis and data visualization (dependent on experience and training)

o General research support o Assisting with client communications

Education:

- MSc or PhD in epidemiology, health economics, statistics, or public health; or equivalent experience

Experience:

- 2-4 years of health research experience in a consultancy (ideal) or academic work setting
- Experience with SLR
- Experience with at least one of observational studies, statistics, or economic models is desired
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Strong independent working skills
- Organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently within a team environment as well as the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required
