Salary: $26.20 to $37.62 per hour ($47,684.00 to $68,468.40 per annum)

Qualifications
MINIMAL FORMAL EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Masters degree in a related study area with two years = directly-related experience.
OR
- Bachelors degree in a related discipline with five years = directly-related experience.
OR
- Completion of a Community College course in a related discipline with six years = directly-related experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Health Canada Division 5.
- Personal Health Information Act (PHIA).
- Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS2).
- Donning and Doffing Procedures.
- Experience in coordination of clinical trials and knowledge of research protocols required.
- Experience working on interventional drug studies required.
- Experience working on Internal Medicine, specifically infectious disease and critical care research studies required.
- Experience working with Electronic Data Capture software required.
- Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice guidelines, PHIA and the Tri-Council Policy Statement on Research required.
- Experience with Personal Protective Equipment and donning and doffing procedures required.
- Familiar with ongoing Hematology/Critical Care trials preferred.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English are required.
- Demonstrated clinical competence is required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team is required.
- Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to multi-task are required.
- Knowledge of computer software and proficient use of Microsoft Office including Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
- A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
OTHER JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual in French and English (written and oral) is preferred.
Key responsibilities
- Completion of RITHIM submissions.
- Aids in the completion of Health Canada clinical trial applications as needed.
- Maintains as the Coordinating site; all Health Canada, REB/RITHIM, institutional and regulatory approvals.
- Aids in the development of study materials including, assent/consent forms, data collection tools, case report forms, source documents, and other research project related materials such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’S).
- Monitors trial progress to ensure adherence to the project plan and to identify, evaluate and rectify problems.
- Ensures compliance with ICH-GCP, Tri-council (TCPS2), FIPPA/PHIA, Health Canada Division 5 and other regulatory requirements and related institutional policies in the conduct of clinical studies.
- Efficiently manages the day-to-day tasks of assigned research projects including maintenance of all operational documentation.
- Coordinate administration of trial interventions.
- Assists the Investigator(s) with identification and screening of participants for inclusion and exclusion criteria.
- Obtains written and informed consent from participants and /or their Authorized 3rd party. Assesses for capacity to re-consent if first person consent was not initially obtained.
- Schedules initial and follow-up appointments for all participants as needed and tracks all visits to ensure adherence to protocol.
- Maintains a study filing system as needed.
- Ensures documentation and timely reporting of adverse events and serious adverse events.
- Liaises with the various departments to facilitate interaction and communications between the appropriate individuals and other departments to support research activities (University of Manitoba Departments – ORS, REB and the various HSC, SBH and Grace Hospital Departments and RITHIM as required).
- Collaborates closely with other research staff and hospital personnel.
- Liaises with external agencies as required.
- Orders and maintains study-related supplies as needed.
- Provides general back up support to other team members when required.
- Adheres to all safety and health policies, regulations and safe work practices.
- May be required to perform related duties not exceeding skills and capabilities as required.
