Description:

We are seeking a Research Coordinator to work within the CP Discovery lab, a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team investigating the etiology and rehabilitation of children and youth with cerebral palsy. The Research Coordinator, reporting to the Research Manager and the Principal Investigator, will primarily focus on the health chart data abstraction and execution of health/medical chart reviews and the day-to-day organizational responsibilities of ensuring GCP principles in research.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Organizing and conducting health chart reviews including data abstraction from obstetrical, neonatal, and rehabilitation medical charts of study participants
- Abstracting referral information about health care service utilization from medical charts
- Data entry of health chart reviews in REDCap database




- Responsible for maintaining administrative tracking of medical charts in REDCap database and sending of invoices/information to partner sites
- Participate in quality control/assurance activities
- Aid in ongoing training and development/maintenance of training manuals
- Assist in amending case-report forms, data collection forms and/or questionnaires
- Participate in audits and site visits/meetings as needed

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conducting literature reviews as needed
- Assist in development of new research proposals, preparation of reports, presentations, manuscripts including data analysis
- Keeping abreast of regulations and policies governing clinical research
- Liaise with team members, research partners, participants/parents etc. as needed
- Participate in on-the-job training as appropriate
- Support team activities (i.e. schedule meetings, preparing agendas/materials, taking minutes) and assist with research and related administrative tasks as required
- Facilitate other ad-hoc projects as assigned

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

- Nurse (RN/RPN), midwife, and/or clinical experience in obstetrics and/or neonatal care is required
- Experience with research focused on children and youth with disabilities is an asset
- Excellent organization, time management and priority setting skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Working knowledge of database platforms (e.g. REDCap)
