The Job

JNG Electric is hiring one electrician for our residential and service division.

This is residential, renovation and service work Every day is a different address and a different problem.

We're looking for a 309A licensed electrician or a 5th year (final level) apprentice who's ready to run their own calls.

Total compensation package: $46.00–$60.00 per hour.

JNG is a unionized contractor with the Building Union of Canada (BUC) wages, benefits, pension and hours are per the collective agreement.

Start date: within 2–4 weeks.

What You'll Be Doing

- Residential service calls troubleshooting dead circuits, nuisance trips, faulty devices, open neutrals
- Service upgrades and panel changes 100A to 200A, meter bases, mast work, grounding and bonding
- Renovation wiring kitchens, basements, additions, garages; knob-and-tube and aluminum remediation
- Pot lights, fixtures, switches, dimmers, smart devices, ceiling fans
- Dedicated circuits hot tubs, EV chargers, A/C, ranges, generators, sub-panels
- Working clean in finished homes: drop sheets, boot covers, dust control, minimal drywall damage
- Lighting Retrofits
- Talking to homeowners directly explaining the problem and the fix in plain English
- Quoting small work on site. You don't need to be a salesman on day one, but you do need to be willing to grow into pricing add-ons at the door. Bigger jobs go back to the office.

What You Need
- 309A Certificate of Qualification, or a registered apprentice at 5th year / final level
- Valid Ontario G licence with a clean driving abstract this is not negotiable.
- Real residential and service experience, enough houses under your belt to know what's behind the drywall
- Your own hand tools




- Solid working knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code as it applies to dwellings
- Presentable and professional, in someone's home.
- Able to work on your own efficiently without supervision and direction.

Nice to have: Generator and transfer switch installs, EV chargers, low-voltage and smart home, aluminum wiring remediation, previous service truck experience.
