We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, dependable, and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our pet boutique team.

This is a part-time retail position in a busy, customer-focused pet boutique. The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with people and pets, is comfortable starting conversations with customers, takes pride in providing accurate information, and works well both independently and as part of a team.

This is an active retail position that requires regular heavy lifting. Applicants must be comfortable and physically able to lift and move boxes and inventory weighing up to 40 pounds. Heavy lifting and regular stock replenishment are an essential part of this position and are not optional.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, receptive to feedback, willing to learn, and able to follow direction. Because our customers rely on us for accurate product information, attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions when unsure are extremely important.

Required Availability & Qualifications

- Part-time position only.
- Must be available to work both weekdays and weekends.
- Must be flexible and willing to work all shifts that are scheduled.
- Must be consistently punctual and arrive ready to work at the scheduled start time.
- Must have a friendly, outgoing, and approachable personality and genuinely enjoy interacting with customers.
- Must be comfortable approaching customers, answering questions, making product suggestions, and helping customers find what they need.
- Must be able to accept coaching and constructive feedback professionally.
- Must be willing to learn and understand that product knowledge is ongoing as new products are regularly introduced.




- Must be able to work cooperatively with others while also being capable of working independently.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming, friendly shopping experience.
- Proactively assist customers in finding products that meet their needs.
- Ask questions and offer helpful product suggestions when customers are unsure what they are looking for.
- Provide customers with accurate and helpful product information. When unsure of an answer, seek clarification rather than guessing.
- Operate the POS system efficiently and accurately for purchases, returns, and exchanges.
- Handle cash accurately and securely.
- Receive, move, organize, and restock inventory, including lifting and carrying boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Assist with special orders, e-commerce orders, and local delivery inquiries.
- Vacuum and mop the boutique as required.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with team members.
- Help ensure customers receive a consistently positive experience from the moment they enter the store.

Experience

Prior retail, sales, cashiering, or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate.

Experience with the following is considered an asset:

- Retail sales and customer service
- POS systems and cash handling
- Merchandising and product displays
- E-commerce platforms
- Pet products or the pet industry

Strong English communication skills are required. Additional languages are an asset.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 13.0 – 20.0 per week
