Calderdale College is looking for an experienced individual who can manage a complex and demanding workload. You must have experience of Safeguarding young people and adults and have highly effective interpersonal and communication skills The Safeguarding Officer will support and coordinate the delivery of Safeguarding arrangements across the College. This role will work closely with managers, curriculum and support staff, external agencies and students in order to maintain a culture of vigilance and responsibility, maintaining the safest possible workplace at the College.

The Safeguarding Officer will support the work of the College’s Safeguarding Leads and be responsible for: supporting the College’s compliance with Safeguarding Policies and Procedures, the Prevent Duty, co-ordinating and delivering awareness raising events, delivering training for staff and students,



responding to and managing safeguarding cases and attending meetings, including multiagency meetings off site. You will also be supporting and advising staff across the college and liaising with key safeguarding partners

You must have high level of communication and interpersonal skills especially with students and recent in-depth experience of safeguarding case work with young people and adults to help keep them safe and the ability to maintain and sustain high levels of safeguarding support.
