Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced detail-oriented Stone Sawyer to join our team. The Sawyer will be responsible for accurately cutting and processing quartz, natural stone, and porcelain slabs according to shop drawings, templates, and production specifications.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating machinery, understand the characteristics of different stone materials, and take pride in producing precise, high-quality work while maintaining a secure and organized work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Accurately measure slabs and pieces according to drawings, templates, and job specifications.
- Operate bridge saws, CNC saws, and other stone-cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, measurements, and production plans.
- Verify slab dimensions, material type, color, and orientation before cutting.
- Inspect pieces for accuracy, defects, chips, cracks, and overall quality.
- Communicate with the production team regarding material issues, measurements, and job requirements.
- Properly handle, move, and store slabs using appropriate lifting equipment and procedures.
- Maintain saws, tools, and work areas in clean and safe working condition.
- Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Complete production work according to established quality standards and deadlines.
- Assist other fabrication team members as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous experience operating a bridge saw, CNC saw, or similar stone-cutting equipment is preferred.
- Experience working with quartz,



natural stone, porcelain, or other slab materials is an asset.
- Ability to read and understand measurements, shop drawings, and cut lists.
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good understanding of material handling and secure lifting practices.
- Ability to identify potential defects or issues before cutting.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment and production processes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle stone materials with appropriate equipment.
- We’re willing to train the right candidate who is positive, motivated, dependable, and eager to learn.

Preferred / Assets

- Experience in the stone, countertop, millwork, cabinetry, or manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of quartz, natural stone, porcelain, Dekton, and other slab materials.
- Previous experience working directly in a fabrication environment.
