Blutic is looking for experienced Senior Backend Developer (Java + Databricks) with 7 to 15 years of experience to join our high-performing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Databricks, SQL, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and multi-threaded application development. Experience in the investment banking or financial services domain is plus.

This is a W2 (Hybrid) opportunity.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

● 7 to 15 years of hands-on experience in Java application development.

● Strong experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security).

● Hands-on experience with Databricks.

● Strong SQL skills with database performance tuning and query optimization.

● Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing unit/integration tests.

● Experience with multi-threading, concurrent programming, and low-latency systems.

● Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and software architecture principles.

● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Skills

● Prior experience in the investment banking or financial services domain.

● Familiarity with FIX protocol, trading platforms, or risk management systems.

● Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.

● Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools.

● Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

● Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

● Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise-grade Java applications.

● Build scalable and secure solutions using Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security).

● Design and optimize high-performance SQL queries and database interactions.





● Develop multi-threaded applications capable of handling high-concurrency workloads.

● Develop and integrate data processing solutions using Databricks for large-scale data engineering and analytics workloads.

Test-Driven Development (TDD)

● Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following TDD principles.

● Develop and maintain robust unit and integration tests.

● Ensure code quality through automated testing, peer reviews, and continuous integration practices.

Domain-Specific Solutions

● Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate financial requirements into technical solutions.

● Develop and enhance trading platforms, risk management systems, and settlement applications.

● Optimize applications and data pipelines for performance, scalability, and low-latency processing.

● Work with structured and semi-structured data using Databricks and Spark-based technologies.

Collaboration & Leadership

● Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.

● Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Data Engineering, and Product teams to ensure seamless solution delivery.

● Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.

● Identify opportunities for application and data pipeline optimization.

● Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in Java development, Databricks, and financial technology.

Information Security Responsibilities

● Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols.

● Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.

● Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).

● Ensure data protection measures are integrated throughout the information lifecycle to safeguard sensitive information.
