We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support business analysis and I⁢ initiatives within a large public-sector setting.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business needs, gather and document requirements, conduct business/process modelling, and translate requirements into solutions that support organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and conduct business analysis to assess client business problems and opportunities.
- Gather, analyze, validate, and document business requirements to support the development of I⁢ solutions.
- Conduct business analysis at different levels of detail based on project scope and phase.
- Work with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand and document business needs.
- Develop and facilitate requirements-gathering activities, including interviews, workshops, JAD sessions, mockups, and other techniques.
- Conduct business, use case, process, data flow, and data modelling .
- Define business rules and non-functional requirements.
- Apply business process re-engineering concepts to identify opportunities for business improvement and cost-effective service delivery.
- Develop strategies, business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies for I⁢ initiatives.
- Translate business and data requirements into specifications that can support technology solutions.
- Develop presentations, briefing notes, requirements documentation, and other project deliverables.
- Develop performance measures and traceability matrices to support business analysis evaluation.
- Monitor progress, identify and resolve issues, and provide regular updates to management and stakeholders.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support consistent business analysis practices, processes, standards, and best practices.
- Stay aware of emerging I⁢ trends and technologies relevant to business analysis.

Must-Have Qualifications

- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience.
- Proven experience leading and conducting business analysis to assess business problems and opportunities and document requirements for I⁢ solutions.
- Experience conducting business analysis across different project phases and levels of detail.
- Experience with:
- Business modelling
- Use case modelling
- Conceptual and logical data modelling
- Process and data flow modelling
- Business rules definition
- Non-functional requirements
- Strong requirements gathering and documentation experience.
- Experience developing business strategies, business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies.

N ice-to-Have Qualifications

- Previous Ontario Public Sector (OPS) experience .
- Experience with information retrieval packages.
- Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
- Experience with business functional modelling, business event modelling, and business process mapping.
- Experience with structured, object-oriented, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience developing performance measures and conducting follow-up evaluations.
- Knowledge of AODA and related accessibility standards.
- Experience using CASE tools to document conceptual requirements and scope.
- Experience translating business and data requirements into technical specifications.
