Due to strong growth in our business and continued plans for expansion, Floral Express is looking for a new role in the Company, Senior Buyer.

The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing floral products and related supplies to ensure product availability, quality, and cost efficiency. The role works closely with suppliers, operations, sales, and Quality Assurance Teams to support customer demand and company profitability.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and implement purchasing strategies that support business objectives

· Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, quality, and service levels

· Establish and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international vendors

· Monitor supplier performance and address quality, delivery, or service concerns

· Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements





· Forecast product requirements based on sales trends, seasonality, and operational needs

· Coordinate purchasing activities with Sales, Operations, Transportation, and Warehouse teams

· Prepare and manage purchasing budgets

· Continual review of promos from vendors, combined with marketing, to increase sale margins

· Connect with new farms, in new regions, and explore their product lines

· Be proactive in locating, developing, and securing new or exclusive products

· Seize opportunities for key business development

· Look for ways to upgrade floral product to increase floral value and USP

· Analyze purchasing data and market trends to identify savings opportunities

· Monitor freight, import, and supply costs to support profitability targets

· Prepare regular purchasing and inventory reports for leadership

· Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions

· Establish corporate and department goals; establish performance metrics

· Promote collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Knowledge and Experience

· Post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field

· Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation considered an asset

· 7+ years of purchasing,



procurement, or supply chain experience

· Experience with perishable products; agriculture, floral, produce, or distribution environments preferred

· Solid negotiation and vendor management skills

· Experience with ERP and inventory management systems

· Experience within wholesale, retail, logistics, horticulture, or floral industry would be considered an asset

· Proficiency with MS Office Suite

· Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

· Strong financial and business acumen

· High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
