Senior Computer Vision Engineer

Location: Quebec City, QC

Contract Duration: 3 months

Work Schedule: Part-time – 3 hours/day, 15 hours/week

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Computer Vision Engineer / Computer Vision Software Developer to develop and optimize advanced computer vision software.

The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming prototype computer vision algorithms into high-quality, production-ready software and optimizing algorithms for different hardware architectures, including FPGA, x86 and multi-core ARM CPUs.

Key Responsibilities

- Convert prototype computer vision algorithms into high-quality, production-ready code.
- Design and recommend strategies for optimizing computer vision algorithms for embedded systems and mobile devices.
- Optimize algorithms based on performance, power and hardware constraints.
- Design and review software modules and architecture supporting new technologies and existing functionality.
- Collaborate with embedded systems, backend/server and computer vision engineering teams.
- Develop automated software tests and troubleshoot software issues.
- Document software architecture and technical solutions.
- Analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
- Work independently with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Provide technical guidance to junior-level personnel when required.

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience,



or comparable industry experience delivering products using advanced computer vision and/or machine learning systems.
- Solid FPGA programming experience.
- Excellent C and C++11 or higher programming skills.
- Broad understanding of computer vision concepts and algorithms.
- Experience optimizing algorithms for embedded platforms.
- Experience with ARM, GPU and/or DSP platforms.
- Experience with parallelized and vectorized computation.
- Experience with signal processing algorithms and implementation.
- Ability to determine and develop appropriate technical approaches to complex problems.

Computer Vision Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is valuable:

- Object detection
- Object tracking
- Object recognition
- Multiple-view geometry
- OCR detection
- Camera calibration
- 3D data processing
- Activity recognition

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- Specialization in Computer Vision and/or Machine Learning.
- Experience with NVIDIA platforms.
- Experience developing production-grade computer vision or embedded software.
- Experience working across hardware and software engineering teams.
