Role: Core Java Dev + eTrading

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with AI experience to join the FIC Global Spread Products eTrading Technology team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a next-generation electronic trading and algorithmic trading platform supporting high-performance, low-latency financial markets.

This role requires strong hands-on experience in server-side Java, multithreading, messaging, event processing, distributed caching, relational databases, and low-latency application design. Experience applying Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Generative AI to trading, market data, analytics, automation, or software engineering is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, low-latency eTrading and algorithmic trading applications using Core Java.
- Contribute to the construction and evolution of the next-generation electronic trading platform.
- Develop robust, scalable, and resilient services for real-time market data, order processing, pricing, execution, and event-driven workflows.
- Apply advanced Java concurrency, multithreading, reactive programming, and asynchronous processing techniques.
- Design and implement messaging and event-processing solutions across multiple real-time data streams.
- Work with multicast messaging and other high-throughput communication technologies.
- Design and optimize distributed caching solutions, including GridGain/Ignite.
- Collaborate with architects, traders, product managers, quantitative developers, infrastructure engineers, and globally distributed technology teams.
- Participate in architectural decision-making and help shape the strategic direction of the eTrading infrastructure.
- Identify opportunities to use AI/ML and Generative AI to improve areas such as:
- Trading analytics and market-data processing
- Anomaly and pattern detection




- Intelligent monitoring and operational automation
- Code quality, testing, and developer productivity
- Forecasting, optimization, and decision-support capabilities
- Ensure AI-enabled solutions are designed with appropriate controls for performance, security, explainability, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis and permanent resolution.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical design reviews, automated testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support DevOps, release management, and production deployment activities.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers and, where required, provide technical leadership for delivery teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience developing server-side applications in Java.
- Strong expertise in:
- Core Java and Java Collections API
- Java Concurrency and multithreading
- Reactive programming and Rx Streams
- Asynchronous and event-driven application design
- Messaging and event processing across multiple streams
- Distributed caching, preferably GridGain/Ignite
- 5+ years of experience developing multicast messaging solutions.
- 5+ years of experience working with relational databases, including SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle, or equivalent technologies.
- 5+ years of experience designing low-latency trading application services.




- Strong understanding of performance tuning, memory management, garbage collection, profiling, and latency optimization.
- 5+ years of experience with DevOps and build/release tools, such as:
- Maven
- Jenkins
- Nexus
- Helios or similar deployment platforms
- Practical experience with distributed systems, fault tolerance, resiliency, and high availability.
- Demonstrated experience with technical design, system integration, and production support.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies, Generative AI, or AI-assisted software engineering, including familiarity with APIs, model integration, data pipelines, or machine-learning workflows.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 2+ years of hands-on experience with cloud or container technologies, including:
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Cloud-native platforms
- CI/CD and infrastructure automation
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks, model-serving platforms, or data-science technologies.
- Experience applying AI to financial services, capital markets, electronic trading, market surveillance, risk, or operations.
- Experience with Python, Spark, Kafka, or other technologies used in data and AI ecosystems.
- Experience with FIX protocol, market-data feeds, order-management systems, or trading platforms.
- Experience with performance testing, benchmarking, and latency measurement.
- Experience managing technical delivery, coordinating projects, and leading development teams.
- Ability to manage and mentor people while maintaining hands-on technical involvement.
