Senior Cook / Kitchen Lead

Compensation: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour

Position Status: Existing vacancy An established food service company in the West GTA is seeking an experienced Senior Cook / Kitchen Lead to support daily kitchen operations, catering production and team coordination.

The ideal candidate will have robust hands-on cooking experience along with experience in food costing, inventory, ordering, scheduling and kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and oversee food production according to recipes, portion sizes and quality standards.
- Monitor food costs, portion control, waste and product usage.
- Coordinate catering orders and high-volume food production.
- Manage kitchen workflow and assist with staff scheduling and supervision.
- Train and support kitchen team members.
- Manage ordering, inventory and stock levels.
- Ensure proper receiving, storage, labelling, dating and product rotation.
- Maintain food quality, cleanliness and organization.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation,



allergen and Health & Safety procedures.
- Identify equipment, safety and operational concerns and report them to management.

Qualifications

- Previous professional cooking experience in a commercial kitchen, catering or high-volume food environment.
- Senior cook, lead cook or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience with food costing, inventory, ordering and waste control.
- Strong leadership, organization and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as required.
