O’Hara Technologies is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to lead job costing, cost-overrun analysis, expense governance, and executive reporting. Reporting to the VP, Finance & Corporate Services, this role will work closely with operations and project teams to protect margins, improve financial controls, and deliver clear, decision-ready reporting.

The Finance Manager will prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, respond to evolving information requests from management, and translate complex financial and operational data into practical business insights. The successful candidate will have strong manufacturing or project-based accounting experience, advanced Excel and reporting skills, and expert knowledge of a Tier 1 ERP system, preferably Epicor. This is a full-time, permanent, fully on-site position in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Own detailed job-costing analysis across active projects and identify cost overruns early.
- Investigate budget variances, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions to protect project margins.
- Identify and challenge unauthorized, unsupported, unusual, or out-of-policy costs across projects and company credit cards.
- Ensure expenses are properly approved, documented, accurately coded, and aligned with company policy.
- Work with operations and project leaders to improve cost control and financial accountability.
- Review and approve company credit-card expenses in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure receipts are collected, transactions are properly supported, and credit-card statements are fully reconciled.
- Prepare accurate expense summaries and management reports for executive review.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial, operational, job-costing, and management reports in response to business and executive requirements.
- Analyze information from multiple sources, investigate unusual results, and translate detailed data into explicit findings and actionable recommendations.




- Respond to time-sensitive reporting requests while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and appropriate supporting documentation.
- Build and maintain executive reporting packages that support timely and informed decision-making.
- Develop, improve, and automate reports using the ERP system, advanced Excel, and business intelligence tools.
- Manage multiple finance projects and reporting requirements from planning through completion.
- Support data integrity, financial controls, and reporting improvements within the company’s ERP system.
- Serve as backup for the Controller and Financial Analyst when required.
- Document and cross-train key finance processes to reduce operational and key-person risk.

What We Are Looking For
- Eight or more years of progressive finance or accounting experience.
- Strong job-costing experience in manufacturing, engineering, or project-based operations.
- Demonstrated experience preparing recurring and ad hoc financial, operational, and executive-level reports.
- Ability to independently interpret reporting requests, identify the appropriate data, validate the information, and present meaningful conclusions.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and organize large or complex datasets.
- Strong financial-reporting and data-analysis capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with a Tier 1 ERP system; Epicor experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience developing or improving ERP-based reports, dashboards, and management reporting packages.
- Experience with expense management, reconciliations, internal controls, and audit support.
- Strong attention to detail, with the confidence to question unusual, unsupported, or unauthorized costs.
- Ability to clearly explain financial findings to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- A self-starter who can manage multiple priorities, changing requests, and short reporting deadlines without close supervision.
- Ability to work fully on-site in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
