Position Title: Senior Payroll Specialist

Contract : 4-6 months with potential for extensions

Location : 5 days a week onsite in Calgary, near the airport

Rate: $30-$35/hr

We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist who thrives in a rapid‑paced, high‑volume environment. This role requires someone who is highly organized, approachable, and able to independently manage daily responsibilities while serving as a go‑to resource for employees with payroll questions. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter, someone who can lead by doing and can potentially shape into a team lead—bonus points if this candidate experienced with Dayforce—and comfortable navigating frequent transactions and communication.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Extensive experience working in payroll, someone quite senior
- Experience working with employee benefits
- MUST have experience processing multiple payrolls (this one involves 3 different payrolls)
- Must have experience working with unionized payrolls




- Extensive payroll experience, ideally in high‑volume environments.
- Ability to manage large numbers of transactions with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to stay on track without close supervision.
- Experience working with large Payroll systems, with Dayforce experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to manage large volumes of email and stakeholder interactions.
- Professional, approachable presence for in‑office walk‑ups.
