The Opportunity

Wolf is looking to fill an 18-month contract position as a Regulatory and Environmental Compliance Specialist. This role is responsible for ensuring the organization's compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and policies through a combination of project and operations support, regulatory audits and inspections, data analysis, and project management. This role plays a key part in proactively providing direction and guidance to reduce regulatory and environmental impacts, while implementing compliance strategies to mitigate risks across Wolf. This senior role provides senior-level oversight and expertise to support regulatory and environmental compliance across all facilities and projects, developing long-range strategies that mitigate risk, and embedding regulatory and environmental practices into Wolf’s overall business strategy. The role also oversees the ongoing development and execution of Wolf’s management system and information governance programs, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Regulatory and Environment Responsibilities





Operational Compliance:

- Lead Wolf’s preparation for and participation in AER audits and site inspections and complete appropriate paperwork and corrective actions to achieve compliance
- Identify environmental risks and compliance gaps, and work with operations, and maintenance teams to implement practical mitigation measures and environmental management best practices
- Develop and deliver regulatory and/or environmental training for field personnel to strengthen awareness of regulatory obligations, permit conditions, and environmental protection expectations
- Manage environmental compliance projects from initiation through closeout, including planning, execution, monitoring, budgeting, reporting, and risk management
- Review, and analyze regulatory and environmental data and samples, such as, air, water, and soil, to support regulatory compliance activities

Project Compliance:

- Prepare, review, and coordinate applications, submissions, and compliance documentation for regulatory agencies, including AER, AEP, DFO, and municipal and provincial authorities
- Provide regulatory input during project planning to identify technical and non-technical risks, support approval strategy development, and advise on realistic regulatory approval timelines
- Manage consultants supporting regulatory and environmental applications, construction-phase compliance, post-construction obligations, and reclamation activities

OneWolf Compliance:

- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, consultants, and internal teams to support timely delivery of environmental and regulatory project requirements
- Provide regulatory and environmental expertise during unplanned events, incidents, and emergency response activities, including support to the Emergency Response Team and reporting to applicable agencies
- Support Emergency Response by overseeing spill response activities and environmental incident investigations, including regulatory reporting, corrective actions,



and remediation follow-up
- Support the review and submission of internal and external regulatory reports to meet the environmental reporting requirements of permits, approvals, and applicable regulations
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness of environmental and regulatory compliance programs
- Develop and execute project-specific regulatory approval plans and budgets for new projects and modifications to existing assets
- Facilitate and promote the OneWolf Operations Management System (OMS), including coordinating assurance activities to support ongoing development, execution, compliance, and continuous improvement, and presenting annual findings to senior leadership

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field
- Minimum of 10+ years experience in a similar role

Experience:

- 10+ years of experience in regulatory and environment within the energy, infrastructure, or resource sectors including Alberta midstream experience
- Proven track record developing and executing regulatory and environmental strategies and programs
- Solid understanding of Alberta’s regulatory and environment regulations (Public Lands Acts, AER Directives, Water Act, etc.)

Skills:

- Ability to interpret, understand legislation and translate it to a diverse audience in the context of environmental and regulatory matters
- Data compilation, technical analysis and report preparation for regulatory approval/ amendment applications
- Proficient in data collection, management, QA/QC, data interpretation, analysis and summary
- Previous experience in preparation of Regulatory applications is an asset (i.e. OneStop, EPEA, TIER, AUC applications, etc.)
- Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring of compliance projects
- Strong communications skills
- Highly organized
- Uses a collaborative approach to work
- Ability to work independently, exercise judgement, manage multiple priorities, interface directly with regulators and senior leadership and lead consultants
