Social Restaurant & Lounge is seeking passionate, hospitality-driven professionals to join our service team in a full time, day server role.

Located in the heart of Ottawa’s ByWard Market, Social is known for its vibrant atmosphere, elevated dining experience, award-winning cocktail program, and exceptional hospitality. We are looking for individuals who take pride in creating memorable guest experiences and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will have:

- 2+ years of serving experience in an upscale casual, fine dining, or high-volume restaurant
- Open availability including days with flexibility for nights and weekends occasionally.
- A genuine passion for food, wine, cocktails, and hospitality
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service techniques
- Working knowledge of wine styles, varietals, regions, and pairings
- Excellent communication and guest engagement skills
- The ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to service excellence
- A positive attitude and willingness to support teammates
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

- Deliver exceptional, professional guest service from start to finish
- Guide guests through menus and provide knowledgeable food, wine, and beverage recommendations




- Execute service according to established standards and procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient section
- Handle guest requests and concerns with professionalism and care
- Collaborate with management, kitchen, and bar teams to ensure seamless service
- Accurately enter orders and process payments
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards

Qualifications

- Valid Smart Serve Certification
- Food Handler Certification considered an asset
- Strong understanding of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Wine knowledge and a desire to continue learning
- Experience with POS systems
- Ability to stand and move throughout a full shift
